Welcome to my newsletter! Thanks for signing up. Here’s your free ecopy of The Claiming of the Duke. A little backstory on this short fantasy romance:

In The Sand Prince, Rhuun’s fascination with the human world, and ultimately the reason he braves the dangers of The Door and visits Mistra, starts when he finds a little book in his mother’s library. It’s the only human book he’s ever seen, and he can’t help but notice the people on the cover look like him, not like his demon kin and friends on Eriis. He comes to think its a sort of documentary, and plans to act accordingly. What he doesn’t know is that The Claiming of the Duke–as the name implies–is an old fashioned, lurid bodice-ripper, and human women (one in particular) won’t much care for being called ‘wench!’

So I started with quotes from an imaginary book, and then decided to write the whole thing. You don’t have to read The Sand Prince to enjoy The Duke, but I’d be personally grateful if you do. Be warned: adult content.

Enjoy!

...the huge dark bulk of Gardenhour rose at his back…at once a blessing of family and security, and a curse of loneliness and lies…

A dangerous man with a dark and tragic past

An innocent girl with dreams of a bright future

Can Gwenyth’s love drive away the shadows enveloping Max’s heart, or will she pay with her life for daring to claim him as her own?

Readers of The Sand Prince will recognize the Duke, his great horse Mammoth, and his beloved Gwenyth in their romantic quest. Finally available in this world, The Claiming of the Duke is the novel that brought the warring kingdoms of Mistra and Eriis back together. Now you can read the entire novel that began Rhuun’s harrowing journey through The Door.
